Everyone is a Blogger on my Blog

My previous post was very short. It asked a question and said little more. That post got more comments than any of the ones before it. (I moved my blog and now the comments are gone.)

I think that would be an interesting direction for a blog. The majority of the content comes from the readers, but the owner chooses the topic.

What does everyone think about this idea? Should my blog be one where everyone is the blogger?

Twitter - What would you change?

Twitter is a great social media service, but considering the number of third party services utilizing the Twitter API, it obviously leaves a lot to be desired.

If you could change one thing about Twitter, what would it be?

The Instant Bounce

Every once in a while someone creates a website so annoying the thought of staying on the page for more than a millisecond is complete unthinkable. Luckily, there are only two rules a web designer must follow to avoid such a pitfall:

  1. Don't embed background music

  2. DO NOT $%#@%$@ EMBED BACKGROUND MUSIC!!!

So please, make the world a better place and delete that horrendous midi you decided to imnpale through the <body> of your site. All ears will thank you...

Defining Web 2.0

Welcome to my blog. For my first post I thought I would talk about "Web 2.0".

Many of you are probably wondering what web 2.0 is and if you aren't, then you probably should be. There is no true clear definition of this concept. No one can say where 1.0 stops and 2.0 begins, but I'm going to anyway.

Web Master Man's definition for Web 2.0: "Websites openly displaying viewer communications with only reasonable limitations."

This idea has been made famous by websites like Facebook, Myspace, YouTube and Wikipedia. These sites allow you to say anything you want through text, images, video, etc. The limitations these sites place on communication are only there to improve service and do not hinder the ability of its users to voice their opinions. For Facebook, Myspace, and YouTube the restrictions are mostly spam and pornography censoring. In certain instances these website actually put the power of limitations into the hands of its users. Wikipedia is entirely dependent on this idea. This is their way of keeping the information factual and therefore useful to those who read it. So please make my blog 2.0 compliant and leave some comments.

Thanks for reading my first post!
